13th October, The Multiple Sclerosis Society Meeting,
St. Mary's Junior School, Twickenham.

Thameside Harmony all arrived promptly at St. Mary's Junior School on a pleasant evening in mid October. We were delighted to be performing to the M.S. Monday meeting, and once the costume change had been worked out, fuschia pink with silver and black this time, we had a very useful rehearsal time outside the Head Teacher's Office. Quiet please, girls !
At 8 p.m. the performance began with a ballad or two, the pure sound of Irish Blessing went down well as Phillip dedicated it to one lively lady in the audience. A change of mood followed with Java Jive, then we sang through our Beatles collection which sadly does not include 'Yellow Submarine'. 'Dont Blame Me' was beautifully sung and 'Lullaby' went down well too. The final number was 'One More Song' and then a cry of Encore was heard. The Chorus rose to the challenge with a resounding performance of 'Alexander's Ragtime Band'.
We retired to the school's amazing music room to change, the equipment there was most impressive, very different from in our schooldays. Lucky children. Many thanks to the Chorus member who introduced us to the M.S. people and we hope that some of them will be able to come to our Christmas Show in December. It will be very nice to see them again.
